Love, Music and Marriage what’s the connection? Well the lovely couple that we are featuring today on the blog their love for music brought them together.
Today we are featuring the romantic and sweet summer real wedding of Raphael and Tiera Peters, captured by E and Jade Photography. Raphael and Tiera said “I DO” on Saturday July 25, 2015. Here are the details from their lovely day. When I asked Tiera to tell us about their wedding, she had a lovely story to share.
Their Love Story:
After being together for almost 5 years we got engaged on New Year’s Eve. Raphael and I first met in High School. Several years later we reconnected over music starting a music band together. While we don’t record musically together regularly anymore we serve at our church in the youth department together. We decided to have a short engagement and managed to pull our wedding together in 7 months. In an effort to keep things simple and economical, we utilized every resource within our reach to make our wedding day come together!

The Hardest Part About Wedding Planning:
One of the hardest things for us was choosing a venue. I have always had my heart set on having an outside wedding because I love the outdoors. Raphael chose the wedding date. We found the perfect venue and date. I worried about guests being comfortable because yes we live in the south and were anticipating 90 degree weather, but in the end we decided that we would accommodate the guest with program fans and bottled water as favors. Plus guests could always mingle inside if they got too warm. We had more than 200 guests! We felt really loved and supported.
My favorite things from our day: We took communion together during our ceremony. We also were given the chance to share a few words during the ceremony before our vows and it was very special moment. My husband cried. I danced with my dad and step dad. My dad and I danced to “You’re a Big Girl Now” by the Stylistics and my step dad I danced to “Papa Don’t Take No Mess” by James Brown! Both songs reflected our different relationships, it was perfect!
First Dance: One of our friends, groomsmen Kawaski Owens played and sang on the keyboard “The Point of It All” by Anthony Hamilton. It was beautiful.
Fun Highlight of the Day: We had a wedding party dance off. The bridesmaids and I danced to a mix of Uptown Funk and Pretty Girl Rock. The groomsmen and the groom danced to a mix of Uptown Funk and Little Einstein remix . We had our guests vote and it was a tie. My husband and I had a spur of the moment dance off after the we wedding party dance off. Needless to say I won! Lol
The support we felt on our wedding day was amazing. I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio and I had a ton of family members come down. We both had family from all over to support us on our beautiful day from Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina, Hawaii, Georgia. We were so grateful. I thought my girls looked beautiful. And I felt their love and support. We ordered their dresses from Etsy. They were convertible wrap dresses only $100.
Although I felt the stress of a million guests and 90 degree weather. I enjoyed our wedding day. It was the perfect way to kick off the rest of our lives together. My hubby was super involved in the planning process and I was grateful that it was something we did together. We honeymooned in Orlando for a week after the wedding.
Thanks so much to Tiera and Raphael for sharing their beautiful love story with Champagne and Cake.
