Happy Thursday!! I hope all is well! Here at Champagne and Cake, we love to feature dynamic duos, and we love this talented photography husband and wife team based out of Philadelphia/South Jersey Kenny and Amanda of Right Look Photography. Today they share with us their love of photography and how they turned their passion for into a business.

CC: Tell us a little bit about you and your company?

Kenny and Amanda: We are a wedding photography company based in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. We’re also a husband and wife team. We are both passionate and deeply committed to capturing our couples’ stories as they unfold. We had a very specific vision in mind when we started our company. Our mission was clear to create a boutique experience that allowed us to deliver a level of service we felt our couples deserved.

CC: What is your favorite quote and why?

Kenny and Amanda: Our favorite quote is, “Photography is the only language that can be understood anywhere in the world.” -Bruno Barbey  We like this quote because it is a simple truth. If a photo has substance, it can be understood by anyone. That is why it’s important to be great visual storytellers.

CC: How did you get into photography?

Kenny and Amanda: We had an interest in it, and that turned into us photographing everything. As we learned and sharpened our skills, we quickly found out that we loved weddings, and pursued it.

CC: How long have you been a photographer?

Kenny and Amanda: We have been photographers for eight years.

CC: Describe your wedding photography style in 5 words are less?

Kenny and Amanda: Artistic. Captivating. Timeless.

CC: What is your favorite image you have taken recently?

Kenny and Amanda: It was during an engagement session in the South Jersey area. We decided to step back and just take a photo of the entire scene. The couple was there enjoying each other’s company, and we saw the beauty in that as well as everything else around them. When you look at the photo, you may not even see the couple at all. It’s a landscape photo. The water, trees, beautiful clouds, and colors all around were just too beautiful not to capture.

CC: What inspires your creativity?

Kenny and Amanda: We get inspiration from a lot of different things. One of our biggest inspirations is light. If we can create something beautiful using light as in inspiration, then we’re happy.

CC: Best advice you have ever received as an artist?

Kenny and Amanda: Keep learning and keep looking for inspiration. You can never learn enough or have enough inspiration.

CC: What have you learned from shooting weddings that you can apply to your daily life?

Kenny and Amanda: Patience! Patience is key. Things will not always g as planned, so it’s important to adapt and move forward.

CC: Who is your favorite photographer and why?

Kenny and Amanda: Ansel Adams. Simply because of his eye for light and composition.

CC: What’s the newest, freshest approach you bring to the photography world?

Kenny and Amanda: Our approach is to be as artistic as possible. We want to create something that will end up invoking some emotion or will end up as large wall art in our couple’s home.

CC: Any final tips you would give to couples when it comes to wedding photography?

Kenny and Amanda: You will be spending a lot of time with your wedding photographer. From the initial meeting, communicating to plan your day, to working together on the engagement session, the actual wedding day itself, selecting your artwork, and the album process. Making sure your wedding photographer has a personality that you connect with is of extreme importance. It is something that you shouldn’t ignore. That is why we take the time to get to know our couples and allow them to get a good feel for our personalities. Do not ignore making that connection.
