Happy Sunday! Today’s post is dedicated to all the amazing, strong, and supportive dads, dad’s to be, and men out there. He is strong, a provider, a protector and supportive even when you don’t see the strength in yourself. He is there to provide practical advice about life while sharing with you stories about his personal experiences in life. He works tirelessly to provide a strong and solid foundation for his family. A father’s love is effortless and limitless.
When I was younger, on every road trip my brother and I would have to listen to my father’s choice of music from the Temptations, The Gap Band, The Commodores, James Brown and these are just to name the few. And Yes I do know all the lyrics to almost all the songs from the 60‘s and 70‘s Thanks Dad. Yes I have an old soul! lol Just the other day I caught myself turning to The Groove on Sirius XM and my favorite song “Outstanding” by The Gap Band was playing. I had to turn the volume to the max and let my windows down to enjoy the song. I had to pause and laugh because honestly it was something my dad would do. And I said to myself, thanks dad for sharing with me your passion for music and all the valuable lessons I have learned from you in life. As I have gotten older I have learned to value every lesson my dad has taught me from business to life. My father and I might not see eye to eye all the time, but he has taught me so much. My dad is an amazing man. I can’t put into words how much he means to me. As an entrepreneur, I have learned so much from my dad to apply to business and to life.
Here are 3 Valuable Tips I have learned from my dad that I can apply to business and life.
Practice, Practice, Practice: People always ask me where did I get my love for the game of basketball and my response “ My Dad”! My dad shared with me his love for the game of basketball which he passed on down to his children. When I was a kid my father was my first coach and he made sure that I took the time to practice. As I have gotten older when it comes to my photography and blog I take the time to make sure that practice my skills and that I am constantly learning to make sure I am on top of my game and always improving my skills, so I can grow into the best version of myself.
Always Plan: My dad has always stressed to me the importance of proper planning. My father is the type of individual before he begins any project he has to take the time to map it out in his head before he begins the project. He always tells me “If you don’t plan you plan to fail.” As I have gotten older I have learned the importance of this lesson and I am still learning to this day! lol
Anything the Mind Can Conceive and Believe You Can Achieve: My father has always stressed to me as a kid that you can be anything you want to be in life as long as you put your mind to it. You are in control of your future and nobody else. So take control and make your dreams a reality. Yes the road will be tough and obstacles will appear, but you have all the tools you need to be successful in life.
Thanks DAD for all that you do! Thanks for inspiring me in life and business. I only hope to marry an amazing man like you one day. I will always be your baby girl! What lessons have you learned from your dad ? Share them below.
